A Few Days in Istanbul

After our trip to the Cyclades, we flew again to Athens and the next day to Istanbul. Our accomodations were quite near the main tourist attractions, so as usual we did all our exploring on foot (except for the irresistable trip along the Bosporus, and we even went back and covered some of that by foot). Here are a few pretty or interesting places.

• The view from our room at the Four Seasons.
• The view down the hallway.
• A minor lobby at the other end of the floor.
• The view of the Aya Sophia from the hallway outside our room.
• An interior of that famous church/mosque.
• A big urban park in a festive mood.
• Medieval fortifications along the Bosporus.
• The Sultan's ice cream shop.
• Near the Black Sea.

One of my favorite places was the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts, mentioned on my Arabic page.
