We chose to stay at the foot of Lycavitos Hill, east and north of the
Acropolis. Our hotel, the St. George, is just to the left of the
wooded "notch" in the center foreground -- the one with the pool
on the roof. The next green area up is the National Gardens, with
the Pan-Athenian Stadium beyond and to the left.
